Installation and Requirements

Requirements

• Concrete CMS 9.5.0 or newer within the 9.x line
• PHP 8.2 or newer
• A Bootstrap 5-compatible frontend theme
• JavaScript enabled for the editing interface and optional parallax effect

The add-on is optimized for the Concrete CMS Atomik theme.

Installation

1. Extract the package archive.
2. Copy the hero_image_plus directory into the site's /packages directory.
3. Sign in to Concrete CMS as an administrator.
4. Open Dashboard > Extend Concrete.
5. Locate Hero Image PLUS.
6. Select Install.
7. Add the Hero Image PLUS block to a page area.

Selecting a Template

After adding the block:

1. Open the block menu.
2. Select Design & Custom Template.
3. Choose one of the included templates:
   • Content Left
   • Content Center
   • Content Right
4. Save and publish the page.

Updating

To update an existing Hero Image PLUS installation:

1. Back up the website files and database.
2. Replace the existing /packages/hero_image_plus directory with the new release.
3. Open Dashboard > Extend Concrete.
4. Run the displayed package update.
5. Clear the Concrete CMS cache.
6. Clear the browser cache when frontend JavaScript or CSS changed.

Do not uninstall the package before an update. Uninstalling a package may remove its installed block type and content records.

Uninstallation

Before uninstalling, remove or replace block instances that are still needed.

Open Dashboard > Extend Concrete, locate Hero Image PLUS, and use the uninstall action. Test uninstallation on a staging site before performing it on a production website.
